PRINZ: Power-Roof for Implementing Net Zero project
During 2024 ACTL ran the PRINZ: Power-Roof for Implementing Net Zero project based in South West Wales to showcase the value of the roof on Social Housing. The project completed on December 31st 2024 and at the end of the project we had installed Power-Roof(R) on a couple of semi-detached houses rented out by social landlord ateb.
For this project we revised our roof design to use a sustainable timber construction but otherwise the design was similar to the Milton Keynes retrofit.
Our timber fabricator was Fforest Timber Engineering of Swansea and we worked with social housing provider ateb who provided the on site contractors who fitted Power-Roof on the pair of semi detached houses in a little village near Haverfordwest.
The photographs and short video clip will give some idea of the install which had to contend with a mass of overhead wires and necessitated a temporary roadway to be placed across the field to the rear of the house to get the crane into position to manage the power-Roof(R) cassettes and crane them into place.
The completed Power-Roof(R) is shown in the final photograph”
